The House Oversight and Accountability Committee on Wednesday signed subpoenas for first son Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s brother James Biden and business associate Rob Walker as the investigation into the first family’s business dealings heats up.
Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told “Just the News, No Noise“ on Tuesday before issuing the subpoena, that his investigation is going to start with interviewing Biden family members and the president himself will be the final person interviewed.
“We’re still a long way from talking to Joe Biden, but we’re, we’re ready to talk to the family members now,” Comer said.
If anyone tries to defy the subpoenas, Comer also said his committee plans to work on holding them in contempt of Congress.
House Republicans officially launched their impeachment inquiry into Biden in September over allegations that he oversaw a foreign influence peddling scheme, deceived 2020 election voters and covered up the crimes of his son.
Comer is also seeking transcribed interviews with Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen, and Hunter Biden’s ex-girlfriend and his brother’s widow, Hallie Biden, among others, according to The Daily Mail.
